Wonder if you all watch the channel 8 program every Monday night at 8pm. The show name is called “Life Transformers”. It is about how the 2 hosts together with a group of volunteers helping out different family each week, to improve their living conditions as well as providing them better necessities.

I have been watching that for the last few weeks. And every week i had a lot of thoughts and feels from watching it. A lot of us are just so fortunate and yet most of the time we take things around us for granted. Every time i saw those people living their lives strongly, i feel proud for them and wishes life would go on smoothly for them from the bottom of my heart.

Today episode is about a family of 3. The father loses his right leg to diabetes and supports the whole family by selling newspaper by the roadside. The mother since having a fall many year back, she has become bed-ridden. From that day onwards, she is afraid to even try to walk or even sit on the wheelchair. She does everything on the bed, from eating to showering. They have a daughter who is only 9 years old this year!!! She is good in her study and we can see from her good grades. She cooks for her mother and cleans up after her mother from her bed. She has been doing this since she was 5 years old!! The 2 hosts could not control their tears when they know what a tough life the little gal had to go through. I was also fighting hard to control my tears, really!! Can you imagine other 9 years old children would be playing and having a happy childhood, as compared to this little girl?

Despite their family condition, they still passed by each day with quite positive thinking. They have supports from other communities so as to help them along to live each day. In the end, the volunteers clean up the whole flat, got them usable 2nd hand furniture, paint their flat as well got them usable items. The crews also help to clean up and they donate a lot of stuffs to the family. The gal mention she likes teddy bear but she do not have money to buy one, and guess what Christopher did?? He mentioned that to Fann and Fann bought one teddy bear, as well as her book to cheer her up!!

I just hope the whole family would be full of luck and full of happiness. A lot of us are actually really fortunate already!!

At this moment i do not feel quite good, i got a slight migraine since morning and now it seems to be getting worse. Hope i get well soon tomorrow morning when i wake up.

I watched this movie in the afternoon today. When it was release in May this way, i wanted to watch it, but somehow i did not find the time to catch it then. So today finally fulfilled my little regret of not watching it on the big screen back then. :-)

With Takeshi as the main lead, plus the story line, it made me wanting to catch this movie in the first place. And after watching the movie today, i simply love this movie!!! If you are those action-packed movie lovers, then such show might cause you to fall asleep. One got to really follow through all the conversations in the movie to really appreciate this. I can’t really catch all the jap conversations, therefore have to rely on the chinese subtitles for this. I like the way the movie flows and how it leads from one scene to another.

Takeshi is a death god and every assignment he went to, it would always be a rainy day. He would be near the dying victim to know more about him/her a few days before the official date of death. He himself would decide if the victim is suppose to die or not.

I like how the movie ends as well, leading back to the gal eariler. I find that Takeshi really protratis and this character well. Is there such a thing as death god? If there are, would they be just like Takeshi? If really such death god exists, i guess death would be a much pleasant experience. :-)

So have you think of death before? ;)

Earlier this week marks the official date of my study semester ending.
This semester is quite tough for me, with 3 main modules and more assignments as compared to the previous semester. My heart feel so light the moment i had my last exam paper. Phew, finally can have some solid rest!!

I already have a list of things to do/complete during this school holidays. I really sound like a full-time student having school holidays now. How i wish i could be a full-time student, but in reality, i still got a full-time job on hand. Yes, with study now taking a break, i can feel more at ease now.

Next year would be tough, that’s for sure.
I’m preparing myself mentally and physically for the tough year ahead.

This is the small camera i was referring to in my previous post!!
This also attract my attention when i saw the news about this launch in Singapore. I must admit that the color plus the sleek design is the pull factor. The spects for this camera is also pretty amazing!!

- 14.7 Megapixel resolution
- 3.7x optical zoom lens with optical Image Stabilizer
- Manual control
- DIGIC 4 for outstanding images and fast response times
- Great people shots with Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB
- FaceSelf-Timer and Face Select & Track
- Targets blur with High ISO Auto, optical Image Stabilizer, Motion Detection and Servo AF
- Auto Red-Eye Correction in shooting and playback
- Multi Control Dial and customizable My Menu
- Smooth, 30fps VGA movies

Camera Package:
- 1x 8Gb SD card
- 1x 4Gb SD card
- 1x Spare Battery
- 1x Mini Tripod
- 1x Card Reader
- 1x Screen Protector
- 1x Canon Case

All the above and plus the camera is $659. Is quite a deal for me. :-)
(Let me know if you want to know where to get this deal…..)

As you can see, some of spects are similar to SX10IS, since both are launched around the same time. It is quite amazing for them to pack 14.7 Megapixel into this small size. I saw cameras from other brand also coming up with similar spects to gain market share.

And now the reason for buy this, not because i’m trying to explain myself over here. I bought this to be a always by-my-side camera. This camera is now in my bag everyday when i go to work. The reason is because i want to force myself to take more photos in Singapore, else i would be taking photos less and less. There is also another reason why i’m looking at taking more photos, but that one i will talk more into details a few days later after the official date. :-)

I really love this camera a lot!!! I’m trying not to become a PnS camera shooter!! I still must go and practise on my 400D often. As for that, now i researching and reading up on taking black and white photos. Not only that, i still must practise on my 2 film cameras!! Oh man, so many things to do and somehow i must try to find more time!!

And hereby i declare that i would not be buying any more cameras….. at least this year.

Hahaha… kidding lah.. now i had sufficient cameras for almost all situations already.

Above is the gadget that i was refering to in my previous post.
This gadget caught my eye when it was first announced!!

I have been wanting to get a zoom camera to replace my S2 since a few months back. I almost bought the S5 back then, but at the moment of purchasing, there was no stock. Now thinking back, that incident back then save my day!! Perhaps somewhere, someone out there is hinting to me to wait. :-)

And to throw in some of the features:

- 20x wide-angle (28mm, f/2.8) optical zoom with optical Image Stabilize
- 10.0 Megapixels
- DIGIC 4 for outstanding images and fast response times
- Great people shots with Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB plus
- Face Select & Track and FaceSelf-Timer
- Targets every possible cause of blur with High ISO Auto, optical- Image Stabilizer, Motion Detection Technology and Servo AFAuto Red-Eye Correction in shooting and playback
- Smooth, 30fps VGA movie

The 20x Optical Zoom is defintely a wow factor to me. And for once, Canon include a lens hood for this model. The interface and the new dial button need some time to get use to, but once you are used to it, it is actually quite cool. I also like the fact it got hot-shoe for external flash usage, of which i can share my 580 flashlight. There is also the widescreen photo size for me to choose from. Sometimes i do missed those Sepia settings in a PNS when i was using my 400D all the last year or so.

Another cool feature is the FaceSelf-Timer feature. I managed to test that feature with my colleagues as well. Imagine when taking group photo each time, i got to press the shutter and be in the scene within 10 seconds before the timer goes off. But with this new feature, that is history!!  Now when you press the shutter, it will detect the number of faces, and when there is a new faces that appear, it will fire off 2 seconds later!! How cool is that man!! But of course, if within 30 seconds, there is still no new face detected, it would still fire off, else i would pity those posing in the group photo. :P

I plan to go to Puala Ubin soon with my this camera for more photo shooting!! Bringing my 400D is quite troublesome. I know many would wonder why i need so many cameras for what?? But to me, different cameras got different usage and for different occassion as well. Sometimes you just so lazy to bring a bulky camera setup, so a small camera would be nice.

And talking about small camera, i got one more crazy news to share with you all in the following post. :-P

Below is the result of my run today, click to view more details.

I woke up at 0420hrs today!!
I’m joining the New Balance REAL Run for this first time, and i need to catch the bus at 0530hrs at AMK MRT. I bought the bus ticket as the place is at a faraway place, which is Changi Exhibition Center!! Suppose to go together with another friend, but he overslept, and he did not wake up till i sms him. He got to missed the bus and make his own way there.

The race starts at 0745hrs but i reach the place at 0600hrs!! Reaching so early and nothing much to do, i decided to walk sit down and enjoy the scenery presented in front of me. The view there is nice with big open spaces and i guessed is a good place to see sunrise. :D

Check out the open view below:

The photo below shows the sun coming up, and yes, it is a sign of the race starting soon.

This is the starting as well as the ending point. Like the slogan on the top, “It’s going to get dirty. Enjoy.”
In case you are wondering why, this race is a cross terrain type, which includes trails, road and beach.

Finally met up with my friend and we are the last few to go past the starting line. The first 4km of the race is trail route. This is my second time running on such condition and it is really a challenge for me. I got to run on unbalanced level of sand and soil. I also need to avoid holes on the ground as well as big stones. Just within 200m of the race, i stopped by the side and took one photo, i bet those people behind me must be wondering if i’m here for running or take photos.

Below is the photo i took, how i wish i had my proper camera to capture that scene. :P
There are still so much limitations of my camera phone, but is better than nothing.

Finally i endure through the 4km of the trail route, when i reach the road, the sun was high up and really hot!! The sun was behind me pushing me on, and inside my head, i was telling myself the return route would be even more tough, since i would be running with the sun in front of me. The road was very long and the hot weather is not making things easier. Part of the route also run along the road that is besides the airport, throughout can hear a lot of planes taking off and it is really loud. I was waiting for my friend who went to take plasters for his blisters, and then i saw a gal wearing a black tee with the number 27 and her name printed behind overtook me. When my friend was ready, i told him we need to overtake that gal. Okie lah, that gal was not bad looking but somehow do not look like chinese.

I was telling my friend, maybe should call our boss and tell him that need to go overseas last minute, and if he asked more about it, we should say we already at the runway and cant talk anymore. I’m sure it would be convincing with the sound of airplane taking off. :D

Towards the end, we need to run a short stretch of the beach at Changi. It was so hard to run on the coast, no wonder i see so many people in front of me walking instead. The ground was so soft and it just makes running very difficult. Finally when we got out of the beach, we need to run the “killer” route back, which is running towards the sun direction. I was walking, jogging and running on that stretch of road. I can feel the heat on my body and the sun was making me losing my motivatio. But me and my friend are pushing each other on.

Finally we reached the finishing point and it was such a relief!! We proceed to do some warming down, drink up and then collect our goodie bag. I like the t-shirt for this event, it is red, just like the Nike Run in August. Just when we thought we do not need to face the sun anymore, we got another surprise waiting for us. We need to walk out to the nearest bus stop. Imagine walking from Changi Exhibition Center all the way to the bus stop outside SAF Ferry Terminal!! The walk was close to an hour and we need to walk under the sun!!

When i reached home, i was already dead tired, i quickly took a shower and read the papers before proceeding to taking a nap. I got a headache and resist taking panadol, of which i trying very hard not to take panadol so easily, which is so far quite successful.

Overall this race is really a mental challenge for me. As usual, i did not train for my run. My last run was the Nike Run in August. I’m left with one more run this year, which is the StandChart Run. I need to train for my IPPT once i cleared my exams in mid Nov.

Right now while typing this post, i can somehow feel the heat within my body and my skin seem to be burning. I have been drinking water a lot since i’m back home. Hopefully when i woke up in the morning, i will feel better.

Okie, now back to reading for my assignment.

I’m an emotional person and i know myself very well about that.

I have been trying not to get so emotional so easily and up till today, i’m still working hard towards that. Further more, if i would want to go into any psychology related fields next time, i need to have a very strong mental mind and able to control my own emotions very well. And sad to say, every time i think of this, i feel like giving up. I’ve been pushing myself very hard to move on and is really getting hard at times, especially these few weeks or so. I know if i do not write this post, no one would know, but i just want to get it out of my chest. All along, i been keeping many things to myself. I guessed when the day i breath my last bit of air in this world, i would carry many un-said words and secrets with me.

Sometime it is really ironic i would say. It really is. I’m studying psychology, therefore i know how one should behave to lead a meaningful and positive mind. And yet i’m not able to practise what i learnt onto myself! There are just too many personal mental blocks that is weighing a lot in my mind. The feeling i’m having now is like losing my way in the deep jungle. I know the way out but something is holding me on and preventing me from walking out. Can just conclude i choose to be lost in the jungle.

There are many things i want to change which i know is impossible, or rather, is not within my control. At times like this, one would wish for a time machine. I don’t need a time machine to reverse back the time, i just want to go back and feel those happy moments i once have. I need to remind myself that i had once experienced those happy moments.

To my friends out there who read my blog, do not worry about me when you read this post. This is not a “before-sucide” post, or the last post on earth. I’m still trying to think postively and live strong. But i guessed everyone knows that most of the time, it is the environment that we are in that shaped our thinking and mindset.

I already promise myself not to write such gloomy and moody post in this new blog, but someone i break that promise. I do not want to repeat what happened in my last blog where i wrote a lot of such posts. Although is a good channel to write out how i feel, but is not so healthy for the mental mind in the long run.

If somehow Goddess of Mercy or god is reading this post of mine, can you grant me one wish? I do not care what religion or race, to me all are equal.

I just want to wish for no pain and sickness in this world. Even if it is just for a day, i’m sure many of us would appreciate and cherish that one day.

This morning while i was reading the papers, my mum came over to me and tell me something.
She told me not to drink too much 3-in-1 tea in the morning, saying that would freeze the sperms and in future cannot have child. I was surprised and stunned!! Really Stunned!!

I recover from my stun-ness in a split second and just replied to her ok.
Since when is there such a logic?? I bet she must have listened to it from the radio, since she is a big fan of 97.2. :P

But to tell me that?? Is not as if i’m married now and trying for a child. haha….
I still find it amusing though….. hahaa.. i still laughing to myself….

Please do not tell me coke will have the same effect too!
But then again, choosing having a child and drinking coke… am sure you guys out there would know which i would choose. :D
